Secondary, College, and University program (SCU)

Program

In recent years, the development of rowing with younger people has become the priority of the Montreal Rowing Club. That's why we offer an extra program for students from secondary school, college and university. The perfect opportunity to get together and to share memorable moments by performing a complete physical activity.

Several institutions have already joined us: Secondary schools like The Study and Selwyn House, College as Dawson, Marianopolis or Jean-de-Brebeuf and the University of Montreal.

This program is offered to everyone, novice or experienced rower and follows the school schedule.

Training

The schedule is based on availability of schools and other club activities. From 3 to 4 sessions per week are planned and the duration of each session is 2 hours.

According to the expectations set by educational institutions, the training will be more or less inclined towards the elite level.

During Spring and Fall, most of the training happens at the Olympic Basin, Park Jean Drapeau.

During the Winter, most of the training happens in the school (during the week) and at the Quartier des Athlètes, Park Jean Drapeau (on Fridays and Saturdays).

Coaching

Coaches who have their NCCP certification will supervised the young athletes and place them into the best training conditions. We also wish to involve the institution into the process and are ready to provide certification to physical education teachers.
