The Club - Our Facilities

Outdoor facilities: the Olympic Basin and the boat hangars

Our boats are stored in the hangars no. 5 through 9 at the Olympic Basin. You will find the hangars and our launching docks at the "East side" of the Olympic Basin (closest to the Jacques Cartier Bridge): this is also where you will find many of our members, especially in the summer during the early mornings and the evenings.

The Quartier des Athlètes (our indoor facilities) can be seen in the distance.

Indoor Facilities: The "Quartier des Athlètes"

The Montreal Rowing Club indoor facilities are located in the building called "Quartier des Athlètes", next to the Olympic Basin.

The Quartier des Athlètes is a shared facility, managed by Parc Jean-Drapeau. Users of the facility include the Montreal Rowing Club, the McGill Rowing Club, the Quebec Rowing Federation (AQA), the National Canoe-Kayak Team, various dragonboat teams, as well as an organisation called "Option Plein Air".

Our indoor facilities include changing rooms for men and women equipped with lockers and showers, an indoor rowing tank, a weight room, an ergometer room and our administrative office.

Rowing Tank

Our indoor rowing tank is a unique facility and one of the few in North America. It was recently refurbished, and sees quite a bit of training activity during the winter months. It is also used to teach beginners how to row.

Weight Room

Access to the weigh room requires the supervision of the club's head coach, Marc-Oliver Klages. Rowers must check with him for the weight room schedule.

Quartier des Athlètes - general opening hours

  • Monday to Friday: 6:00am to 11:00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 6:00am to 8:00pm

General access to the building is possible via the main entrance at the parking lot. Use the main entrance of the building at "Option Plein Air", near the parking lot. There is a staffed reception desk at the main entrance (Option Plein Air): they will gladly tell you where the office of the Rowing Club is located.

See our contact information page for our office opening hours.

Member access by magnetic pass

Member access to the Quartier des Athlètes outside the Quartier's opening hours requires a magnetic pass: it can be obtained for $20 when you become a member of the rowing club.
