The Olympic Basin, the legacy of the 1976 Olympics, is one of the jewels of the city.
With its 2000 meters of flat water and its beautiful view of downtown Montreal, the Basin is the envy of all the followers of rowing is one of the first facilities of its kind and the only one specifically designed for Rowing in North America.
Besides the Olympics, the Basin has hosted many world championships and other events including the 28th World Rowing Regatta masters of the FISA (2001), a real success of participation was awarded the Maurice Event year.

Our outdoor facilities include our club office and of hangars No. 5 through No. 9 at the Olympic Basin. This is where we store our boats. You will find the hangars and our launching docks at the East side of the Olympic Basin, the side that is closest to the Jacques Cartier Bridge. This is also where you will find many of our members, especially in the summer during the early mornings and in the evenings.
The Montreal Rowing Club indoor facilities are located in the building called "Quartier des Athlètes", next to the Olympic Basin.
The Quartier des Athlètes is a shared facility, managed by Société du Parc Jean-Drapeau. Users of the facility include the Montreal Rowing Club, the McGill Rowing Club, the Quebec Rowing Federation (AQA), the National Canoe-Kayak Team, as well as various dragonboat teams.
It was built for the 1976 Olympics, to house the premises for the organizations of the pool events. Now, offices, locker rooms and training rooms are available to the various clubs.
Our indoor facilities include changing rooms for men and women equipped with lockers and showers, an indoor rowing tank, a weight room, an ergometer room and our administrative office.
The rowing tank, recently refurbished, is one of the only facilities of its kind in North America. It simulates the conditions of rowing.
During winter it hosts numerous training sessions and during the summer, teaches introductory courses.
The Société du Parc Jean Drapeau offers a modern and well equipped weight room to the various clubs that use the Quartier des Athlètes. The equipment was refurbished in 2007 and is regularly renewed.
Most club athletes train there throughout the year and have excellent conditions to complete their training.
The Montreal Rowing Club has its own ergometers that allow athletes to train not only during the winter but in summer, in addition to rowing training on the basin.
Very popular for the physical preparation, these ergometers are available in a specific room of the Quartier des Athlètes.
